Abeba Gebregiorgis earned her bachelor’s degree in the Physician Assistant program at the University of Maryland at Eastern Shore in 2010, where she was a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society. She has successfully passed the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants board exam.
During her training to become a Physician Assistant, Abeba completed a variety of clinical rotations including Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Urgent Care, Emergency Medicine, Surgery, Orthopedics, Pediatrics, Psychology, and Obstetrics-Gynecology. These clinical rotations prepared her to provide excellent care to the patients at Physicians Now, as she has worked in both urgent care and primary care settings and has worked with patients of all ages.
Abeba speaks three languages: English, Amharic, and Tigrigna. These language skills, combined with her exemplary work ethic, excellent time management, and solid analytical skills, allow her to provide exemplary care for her patients. She participates in a variety of diagnostic tests, including X-rays, EKGs and other lab tests, and assists patients with setting up referrals for further evaluation as needed.
Whether her patients have scheduled appointments or are at Physicians Now during walk-in visits, Abeba treats each one professionally with the respect and care they deserve. She counsels and educates her patients and their family members about the condition or injury that brought them to Physicians Now, as well as any others that are diagnosed during the examination. Adeba partners with her patients to help them take charge of their health. She also commits herself to following up with her patients to ensure that the recommended plan of care is being followed properly and is helping the patient on his or her path to restored health.
Outside of work, Abeba loves to spend time with her husband and their two children. She has a passion for cooking and also enjoys traveling.
